obsessive compulsive

The other night I had company over for dinner, after which one of my guests took it upon themselves to do the dishes.
Andrew noticed the next morning that the forks and knives were in the wrong spot, he felt the need to point it out.
This morning I caught him pulling all the forks out of the drawer, I asked him why, he said he was just putting them back in the right place.

Is that normal?

it is to me...maybe I'M obsessive-compulsive... :)
I think i see it more as a habit thing, or something. some people like things in a certain way...i know this is the case in our house (for both of us!)

Hey Carolyn -- good to hear from you again. I was reading the blogs of a few friends of my friends, and a ouple of times they have made reference to a blog that sounds like yours, or done a questionairre that just appeared on your blog the day before. I think you have quite a readership, so keep blogging! -de

Ummmm of course it's normal! Forks living at the knives spot would just be WRONG.

Of course, this is coming from me, a woman who has taken over 40 shirts off their hangers at a time, turned them around, and replaced them so that the tags were facing the right way. :)

I reorganize the cutlery everytime I look at them, it seems. That and my book shelves have to be exactly right. Oh and, like Nikki, my clothes have to be the right way on the hanger.

As for Andrew being so young and doing that, we learn what we live, right? If he is that way by personality, and you are also, then it would seem totally normal for him to do that!!

YES it's normal. I HATE when guests do the dishes and put them away wrong. I mean... if you're going to do it (and thanks if you do) then take the time to LOOK where I have things first. LOL. I don't think I'm CO.

Brayden was like that when he was only 7 months. I was flipping his mattres and he was watching. when it was on it's side he started to cry. As soon as it was proper, he stopped crying. It starts early!!

Hey sounds like you raised him right!! It is normal to me. I always ask where they go if there isn't one to go by in the drawer.

Oh, I am totally the same way with my clothes. THey all have to be faing towards the front of the closet. Try explaining that to a husband! He just thinks I am crazy. Funny thing though, he seems to be catching on. After all there are only so many times he wants me to make him rehang them!! hehehe
